Bio: Jayaseelan Shanmugam is a Payments Platform Architect with deep expertise in fintech innovation, enterprise architecture, and payment system modernization. At PayPal, he leads the design and governance of core payments infrastructure spanning vault, transaction processing, tokenization, and card systems, enabling secure, scalable, and resilient global platforms. He has driven transformative initiatives including the Everett Payments Data Hub, processing 4,000+ events per second, and the Elevate multi-acquirer framework, supporting $270B+ in U.S. card volume. Previously, he held key architecture roles at Oracle Financial Services and Polaris Software Lab. Jayaseelan holds an MBA from the University of Texas with highest honors.
