Beyond the Screen: Affective-Emotive Resonance and the Emergence of Relational AI
Prof. Jagmeet Singh (Jeasy Sehgal) is a Professor of Practice in Virtual Production and VFX at the Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII) at Georgia State University. A pioneer in XR and real-time rendering, Professor Sehgal bridges the gap between creative storytelling, immersive media, and data-driven scientific research. He recently received the prestigious Panther Innovations and Research Award for his work on the Vivience AI Initiative, exploring highly realistic digital humans capable of empathy and emotion. His groundbreaking research introduces “Affective-Emotive Resonance” (AER), a framework for developing Relational AI that builds sustained, ethical, and authentic emotional connections with users. Alongside his academic research, he is the founder of Graphic Monk Productions, a boutique production house and Virtual Production Dojo, an Unreal Engine Authorized Training Academy. Through his interdisciplinary work, Professor Sehgal is actively reshaping the future of human-computer interaction.
